Description:

  • MacStadium is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Software Development team.
  • The Staff Software Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of MacStadium's virtualization and orchestration products.
  • Responsibilities include full stack architecture and design of software systems, infrastructure automation, API and services development, testing, deployment, and delivery of software products.
  • The role will heavily utilize Go to support custom Kubernetes operators and resources, build and orchestrate OCI-compliant VM images, and maintain and extend functionality of a cross-platform CLI using the Cobra framework.
  • The position will also involve using Terraform and Ansible for the deployment and configuration of both internal and customer-facing infrastructure.
  • Opportunities to use Swift for integrating with the MacOS virtualization framework and its UI framework will be available.
  • This position reports to the VP – Engineering and is preferred to be located in the Eastern Time zone, ideally near the Atlanta, GA or Las Vegas, NV offices, but remote work is an option for the right candidate.

Requirements:

  • A BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience, with at least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in the top 10 technical skills listed.
  • Experience with Agile development practices is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team-oriented, and customer-focused attitude are essential.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to deliver components to complex projects is required.
  • Technical skills should include proficiency in Go (Golang), Kubernetes, Swift, Ansible, Terraform, JavaScript, Node, Docker, JSON, CSS, HTML5, NoSQL and SQL databases, Linux, CI/CD tools, Agile development tools, code and image repositories, automated testing tools, shell scripting, and networking concepts.
