Description:

• The Staff Software Engineer, Backend will take ownership of designing and implementing end-to-end solutions for complex, high-impact projects, ensuring the platform's scalability and reliability.
• This role involves keeping the platform at the cutting edge by staying current with the latest trends in Conversational AI, fintech, and software development, allowing for experimentation and implementation of new ideas.
• The engineer will collaborate closely with the CTO and engineering leads to drive best practices across the team, guiding the team toward delivering high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code.
• The position requires solving complex challenges, including optimizing performance and scalability, as well as ensuring security and data protection, with solutions impacting millions of end-users.
• The engineer will drive technical excellence by sharing insights and expertise to elevate the technical bar and serve as a go-to person for complex problem-solving.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in building and delivering complex, scalable technical products, with a strong emphasis on Node.js and expertise in frameworks like Express.js, Hapi.js, and Koa.js.
• Experience in startups ranging from 5 to 30 employees is essential, with a proven ability to build products from scratch and navigate the challenges of early-stage companies.
• Extensive experience with distributed systems, low-latency applications, and microservices is required, along with the ability to build systems that perform under pressure and scale seamlessly.
• A proven track record with real-time interactions using technologies such as web sockets, long-polling, and server-sent events is necessary.
• Hands-on experience implementing security and data protection measures is crucial, particularly in fintech applications.
• Candidates should possess a problem-solving mindset, approaching challenges with creativity and tenacity, and proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• A strong advocacy for Test-Driven Development (TDD) and unit testing, along with a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code, is expected.
