Description:

The Staff Software Engineer, Backend will take ownership of designing and implementing end-to-end solutions for complex, high-impact projects.
This role involves keeping the platform at the cutting edge by staying current with the latest trends in Conversational AI, fintech, and software development.
The engineer will work closely with the CTO and engineering leads to drive best practices across the team.
Responsibilities include solving complex challenges related to performance, scalability, security, and data protection.
The engineer will share insights and expertise to help elevate the technical bar and ensure the delivery of top-tier solutions.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in building and delivering complex, scalable technical products, with a strong emphasis on Node.js.
Deep expertise in frameworks like Express.js, Hapi.js, and Koa.js is required, along with proficiency in both NoSQL and relational databases.
Experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments, particularly in startups ranging from 5 to 30 employees, is essential.
Extensive experience with distributed systems, low-latency applications, and microservices is necessary.
Proven track record with real-time interactions using technologies such as web sockets, long-polling, and server-sent events is required.
Hands-on experience implementing security and data protection measures is crucial.
A problem-solving mindset with creativity and tenacity is expected.
Strong advocacy for Test-Driven Development (TDD) and unit testing is required.
