The Money In Financial Engines team delivers a cloud-based platform that operates with high precision, auditability, performance, efficiency, and interoperability.
The role involves driving the technical direction for an organization of over 20 engineers across 4 agile teams.
Responsibilities include defining and refining architecture, processes, and best practices, as well as mentoring senior engineers.
The successful candidate will collaborate with domain experts and engineers to design, build, test, and own systems for servicing 401(k) plans.
Daily tasks include defining architectures, driving delivery of prototypes, coaching engineers, and improving complex processes and systems.
Requirements:
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale backend software products and systems is required.
Expertise in designing and building modular distributed applications to support a rapidly growing customer base is essential.
A solid understanding of auto-scaling cloud technologies, preferably AWS, is necessary.
The candidate should have experience delivering large-scale backend systems and managing elastic workloads using queue/worker and streaming architectures.
Experience in migrating to modern scalable technologies from monolithic systems while maintaining high reliability is required.
Strong mentoring skills and a desire to help other engineers grow technically are important.
The candidate should be able to articulate the business benefits of technical decisions clearly.
