Description:

  • Glassdoor is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help build the next generation data platform that supports Glassdoor and Fishbowl’s products.
  • The role involves introducing best practices in software development across data engineering and machine learning teams.
  • The engineer will champion a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and technical mentorship within the team.
  • Responsibilities include setting and enforcing best practices for the data platform team and ensuring smooth operation of the platform.
  • The engineer will mentor junior and senior engineers, conduct regular code and architecture reviews, and introduce a robust data quality strategy.

Requirements:

  • A commitment to contribute to Glassdoor's culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • At least 8 years of experience in software, platform, DataOps, MLOps engineering, or a similar role.
  • Strong data product and business sense to drive decision-making with an end-user perspective.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with experience in stakeholder management.
  • Expertise in container and container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD fundamentals and implementation for big data tools.
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud fundamentals and experience with various AWS services.
  • Familiarity with Hadoop fundamentals and strong DevOps and SysOps experience.
  • Strong software fundamentals including hands-on development in languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Strong data fundamentals, including experience with Airflow and streaming data technologies.
  • Understanding of AIOps and ML lifecycle management.

Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary range of $134,400 - $178,500, targeted to the market 75th percentile for technical roles.
  • An annual bonus target of 10%, paid in 6-month intervals.
