Description:

Wellhub (formerly Gympass) is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for their Platform team in Portugal.
The Staff Software Engineer will oversee multiple squads of software engineers, act as a technical reference, code key features, conduct pull request reviews, and lead architectural decisions.
Responsibilities include participating in critical service development, designing, testing, deploying, and maintaining services with a focus on performance, scalability, and resilience.
The role involves building integrations with 3rd party APIs, supporting existing systems, and working in a collaborative, agile environment.
The Staff Software Engineer will work with cutting-edge technologies on a global scale and promote wellbeing in the workplace.

Requirements:

Must have experience mentoring multidisciplinary teams of software engineers.
Should be experienced in architecting large-scale web applications, designing complex modern web applications, and working with Cloud-based architectures (AWS/GCP).
Proficiency in developing RESTful web services, applying computer science fundamentals, and working with SQL/NoSQL technologies is required.
Proficient in at least one programming language (Java/Ruby/Go/C++), with Golang considered a plus.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with teams in different countries and articulate ideas clearly in English.
