Remote Staff Software Engineer (React Native Applications)

Description:

• The Staff Software Engineer will focus on building and maintaining XMTP, Ephemera's E2EE messaging protocol.
• Responsibilities include influencing the design and feature set of XMTP, advising developers on client applications, engaging in open-source communities, and collaborating with other team members.
• The role involves evaluating and recommending trade-offs in development plans and system design, considering factors like security, scalability, efficiency, and cost.
• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10+ years of professional experience as a software engineer and advanced proficiency in languages like Swift, Kotlin, React Native, or JS.
• Extensive design experience, attention to detail, proficiency in creating designs for various devices, and strong understanding of design patterns are required.
• Desired skills include animation experience, familiarity with design systems, and knowledge of secure messaging technologies.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.
• Advanced proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Swift, Kotlin, React Native, or JS.
• Extensive design experience with a focus on mobile and web.
• Attention to detail with the ability to create designs for various devices and screen sizes.
• Strong understanding of design patterns and best practices.
• Prior experience working on peer-to-peer and/or instant messaging systems and protocols is a plus.
• Familiarity with secure messaging technologies is highly desirable.
