Ubiminds is seeking a Staff Software Engineer specializing in Rust/Ruby and Rails for a remote position.
The role involves leading the development of a scalable data platform and member management solution for a new product suite focused on Public Safety.
Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining scalable APIs for complex products, developing and managing large-scale data pipelines, and writing clean, tested, and well-documented code.
The engineer will contribute to technical discussions, architecture reviews, and product roadmap planning, while also mentoring junior engineers and promoting engineering best practices.
The position requires taking ownership and helping shape the technical and team culture.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
Strong proficiency in Rust and/or Ruby and Rails is mandatory.
Proven experience in designing and building APIs and large-scale data systems is required.
A passion for writing high-quality code and leveraging modern development practices is essential.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in collaborative, distributed teams are necessary.
Nice to have: experience with mission-critical, highly available systems, a background in agile product development environments, and familiarity with the health care industry.
Familiarity with AWS and leveraging cloud services to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability is also a plus.
