Description:

• The remote System Engineer III provides system implementation, integration, maintenance, and operations support.
• This role involves designing and developing solutions to complex application problems, system administration issues, or network concerns.
• The System Engineer III performs systems management and integration functions and is knowledgeable in troubleshooting, investigating complex technical issues, and coordinating solutions.
• This position guides the creation, installation, and support of computing systems.
• The candidate must demonstrate superb technical competency, deliver mission-critical infrastructure, and ensure the highest levels of availability, performance, and security of customer systems.
• Supervisory responsibilities may include guiding less-experienced members of the team.
• Essential functions include leading system implementation, testing, integration, maintenance, and operations, including investigating and resolving complex technical problems.
• The role requires providing System Engineering and Administration for development, test, and production environments.
• Responsibilities include managing computational resources, including resource allocation, performance measurement, failover operations, reporting operations, maintenance, and resource planning.
• The System Engineer III will provide support for an enterprise-level and development system comprised of Linux platforms and support the upgrade of hardware and software.
• Acting as the technical advisor to the Project Manager, the candidate will coordinate ongoing development efforts between stakeholders and IT resources, providing a course of action and corrective action plan when issues arise.
• The role involves capturing stakeholders' requirements and ensuring that the system is built and functions according to specifications.
• The candidate must ensure systems are kept in the required configuration profile, including patch maintenance and software updates.
• Recommendations and execution of modifications to systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance are expected.
• The candidate will develop and maintain training materials and systems documentation.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
• Applicable professional certifications are necessary.
• The candidate must have 8 years of relevant and progressive work experience.
• Experience with open-source tools used for automating software deployment, scaling, and management is required.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols is essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical individuals are necessary, along with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships at all organizational levels.
• A strong understanding of organizational goals and objectives is required.
• The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is essential.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation are required.
• Familiarity with automation tools and cloud-based technologies is preferred.
• Experience with AWS and/or AZURE for cloud-based technology is preferred.
• Experience with AGILE Tools, preferably Atlassian, is preferred.
• A strong background with MBSE tools such as DOORS, CAMEO, and Enterprise Architect is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of coding techniques and tools, with a focus on test automation, is preferred.
• The candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Physical demands include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, and the ability to access and navigate each department at the organization and client facilities is required.

• The base salary range for this position is $125,237 to $176,539, determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the position, geographic location, market conditions, and the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and skills.
