Description:

Wattpad is seeking a Data Scientist to join their Data Products & Analytics (DPA) team, which focuses on improving Wattpad’s Search, Recommendation, and Analytics systems.
The role involves applying analysis and machine learning to enhance product creation, development, maintenance, and improvement of Wattpad systems, with a focus on user behavior.
Responsibilities include maintaining best practices for analysis and machine learning, communicating findings to stakeholders, and creating business value.
The Data Scientist will prototype and build solutions in areas such as user analysis, dashboards, recommendation systems, and search solutions.
Collaboration with product managers, engineers, and designers is essential to build new experiences on Wattpad.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a passion for applying analytics and machine learning to business problems.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Data Scientist role is required, with proven results in delivering impactful products using quantitative methods and machine learning.
A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is necessary.
Applicants should demonstrate a systematic approach to problem-solving and project organization.
Clear communication skills regarding problem requirements and challenges with stakeholders and team members are essential.
The ideal candidate should be a team player who can collaborate effectively with other teams.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Pyspark is required, along with experience in applied machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, or Tensorflow.
Proven experience in a software engineering environment developing and deploying data pipelines, dashboards, and solutions is necessary.
