Description:

• Backlight is seeking a bright, passionate web application developer to help build industry-leading solutions for the writing, planning, and management of film and television projects.
• The company provides a video platform that includes six products: Celtx, Iconik, ftrack, cineSync, Wildmoka, and Zype.
• The position is remote, welcoming candidates based in the EST time zone within both the U.S. and Canada.
• As a member of the development team, you will have access to technical training, tools, and experienced software engineers.
• You will work on core features of Backlight's cloud-based solutions.
• Responsibilities include writing frontend and backend code across multiple web app product lines, maintaining and growing a suite of automated tests, and working with a team of experienced developers to meet deliveries.
• You will also optimize and improve existing solutions, work with non-technical staff to understand project requirements, and evaluate and scope technical projects.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in web-based languages such as JavaScript, React, TypeScript, and Node.js is required.
• Experience with automated testing tools like Playwright, Selenium, and Jest is necessary.
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Less, and Sass is essential.
• Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS and GCP is expected.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, particularly DynamoDB, is required.
• Understanding of container-based infrastructure, especially Docker and Kubernetes, is necessary.
• Familiarity with data solutions like BigQuery, Segment, and Mixpanel is preferred.
