Extreme Networks is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to join their Cloud Operations team in Canada.
The team is composed of talented engineers focused on building reliable, scalable, and secure solutions in public and private cloud environments.
The role involves designing, developing, and implementing deployment automation solutions end-to-end.
Responsibilities include managing and maintaining ExtremeCloud service infrastructure in AWS, GCP, and Azure.
The engineer will participate in continuous cloud service operations with teams in the US, EU, and China.
Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in production infrastructure and applications is a key part of the job.
The engineer will drive root cause analysis and resolution, communicate with Dev/QA and external carriers, and participate in release deployment and system maintenance.
The role also includes designing and implementing a deployment automation platform for Kubernetes-based microservices and improving service availability and scalability.
The engineer will analyze service performance, identify bottlenecks, and provide actionable improvement plans.
Participation in cloud security and compliance implementation is also expected.
Requirements:
A BS level technical degree is required, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering.
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in a CloudOps or DevOps role.
Hands-on experience with AWS or any public cloud (Azure, GCP, etc.) is necessary.
Knowledge of Linux, security, and networking fundamentals is required.
Working knowledge of container-based architecture and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes) is essential.
Experience in deployment automation development (Argo Workflows, Terraform, Helm) is required.
Candidates should have experience in diagnosing and resolving complex application problems.
Familiarity with Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, Ignite, Kafka, and RabbitMQ is necessary.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Kibana, and Prometheus is required.
Experience with cloud security and compliance implementation is a plus.
Strong follow-through and initiative to resolve issues is essential.
Candidates should be comfortable working within a distributed team located in multiple time zones.
Benefits:
The position offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 - $120,000 CAD per year.
The preferred location is Toronto, Ontario, with a FlexFirst (hybrid) approach allowing for remote work and access to office resources.
