Description:

  • AmaliTech is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their data team and assist in designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines and workflows.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data engineering concepts, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work on complex data projects that yield impactful insights.
  • Responsibilities include developing, constructing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • The Data Engineer will assemble large, complex datasets that meet both functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Collaboration with data architects, data scientists, and analysts is essential to understand data requirements and optimize data workflows.
  • The role involves monitoring and troubleshooting data systems using tools like Grafana or AWS CloudWatch to ensure reliability, data quality, and availability.
  • Implementing data governance and security measures to protect sensitive data is a key responsibility.
  • The Data Engineer will design and optimize data storage solutions, including data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Automating and improving data processes and workflows for scalability and efficiency is expected.
  • Monitoring data infrastructure for performance and reliability to address issues promptly is part of the job.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering is necessary.
  • Documentation of data pipelines, processes, and best practices for knowledge sharing is required.
  • The role also includes optimizing database performance for efficient data retrieval and storage.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role is required.
  • Proficiency with ETL tools, data integration platforms, and frameworks is necessary.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with both relational and NoSQL databases are essential.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or Hadoop is required.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for data engineering is necessary.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python (preferred), as well as Java or Scala is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, with the ability to understand complex data needs and resolve quality issues to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Luigi, familiarity with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake), and experience working in an Agile environment.
