Description:

  • The company is looking for a Lead Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and own the systems that power their data ecosystem.
  • This role is not a traditional data engineering position; it focuses on creating durable platform capabilities that enable teams and AI systems to use data safely and confidently at scale.
  • The Lead Data Platform Engineer will collaborate with various teams, including Finance, Product, Engineering, and Security, to ensure the data platform is accurate and ready for AI-enabled workflows.
  • Responsibilities include owning the evolution of the data platform on Snowflake and dbt, designing data models, implementing access controls, and ensuring data governance.
  • The role requires a focus on building CI/CD pipelines, optimizing performance and cost, and establishing platform standards to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or related infrastructure roles, with ownership of production systems.
  • Deep expertise in Snowflake is required, including knowledge of roles, RBAC, security, warehouse design, and performance tuning.
  • Strong experience using dbt to build and maintain shared data models is essential.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience designing reliable ELT/ETL pipelines are necessary.
  • A proven systems-thinking mindset is required, with the ability to reason about tradeoffs across correctness, access, cost, and speed.
  • Clear communication skills are essential for explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Nice to have qualifications include dbt certification, experience enabling AI/ML, familiarity with data observability tools, and exposure to BI tools.
