Description:

  • Neara is a high-growth technology company focused on creating sophisticated, engineering-grade 3D digital models of critical infrastructure, primarily in electricity grids but expanding into telecommunications and rail.
  • The software platform is used by infrastructure owners and operators globally to address challenges throughout the asset life cycle, including design, construction, asset management, and climate impact.
  • As a Lead Engineer for Productivity Engineering, you will support over 60 Software and Machine Learning engineers by enhancing the speed, effectiveness, and reliability of development processes.
  • Your role involves transitioning from manual systems to a scalable platform, designing modern CI/CD processes, improving developer experience, and embedding security and reliability into the development lifecycle.
  • You will educate and enable the engineering organization with new tools and best practices, provide mentorship, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • The position emphasizes the importance of happy engineers, faster iterations, and safe releases to facilitate organizational scaling.

Requirements:

  • You must have a proven track record of building and operating large-scale, production-grade systems, with expertise in systems programming, infrastructure platforms, or developer tooling.
  • A history of leading complex, high-impact technical initiatives that improve developer productivity across multiple teams is essential.
  • Experience in designing infrastructure or internal platforms as products, with a strong understanding of developer workflows and usability, is required.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary to influence technical direction and align stakeholders without direct authority.
  • You should demonstrate the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous problem spaces and make sound architectural decisions with incomplete information.
  • A continuous learner with a passion for enhancing engineering effectiveness at scale is preferred.
