Remote Offensive Security Engineer, Agent Security

Description:

• OpenAI's Security team is dedicated to protecting its technology, people, and products, ensuring that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity.
• The Principal-level Offensive Security Engineer will enhance OpenAI's security posture by crafting innovative attack simulations and collaborating with defensive teams.
• This role focuses on continuously testing agent-powered products like Codex and Operator, which have large attack surfaces and access to sensitive user actions.
• Responsibilities include hunting for vulnerabilities, conducting red and purple team operations, collaborating with defensive teams, performing penetration testing, leveraging automation, presenting findings, and influencing security strategy.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 7+ years of hands-on red team experience or equivalent expertise.
• Deep expertise in conducting offensive security operations within modern technology companies is required.
• Experience in designing, developing, or testing the security of AI-powered systems is necessary.
• Candidates should have experience in finding, exploiting, and mitigating common vulnerabilities in AI systems.
• Exceptional skills in code review and identifying subtle vulnerabilities are essential.
• Proven experience in performing offensive security assessments in at least one hyperscaler cloud environment, preferably Azure, is required.
• Mastery in assessing complex technology stacks, including Kubernetes clusters, container environments, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub security, macOS and Linux operating systems, data science tooling, Python-based web services, and React-based frontend applications is necessary.
• A strong intuitive understanding of trust boundaries and risk assessment in dynamic contexts is required.
• Excellent coding skills for writing robust tools and automation for offensive operations are essential.
• Candidates must be able to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
