Remote Principal Data Engineer

Description:

• Design and implement software solutions for energy IoT devices to enhance grid resilience.
• Manage data ingestion from utility software systems like meter data management and SCADA.
• Operate independently to identify solutions, design systems, and delegate tasks to senior engineers.
• Build cross-functional influence to drive company-wide initiatives and shared roadmaps.
• Develop connections to energy markets and APIs for hardware and software integration.
• Collaborate with analytics and machine learning teams for data insights and optimization.
• Improve the scale and reliability of telemetry and weather data pipelines.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience in building data pipelines and ELT/ETL systems.
• Strong system design and architecture skills.
• Familiarity with data warehouses (Snowflake) and data modeling.
