Description:

Seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join the engineering team at Simulmedia, focusing on backend and data infrastructure for TV advertising.
Responsible for building, scaling, and operating backend services within a distributed system of ~30 microservices, with some TypeScript/Node.js work.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of professional Ruby backend development experience (Rails, Roda, Sinatra, etc.).
Experience with distributed systems/microservice architecture.
Knowledge of observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Datadog, etc.) and error tracking tools (Sentry, Honeybadger).
Hands-on experience in TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js.
Familiarity with AWS services and infrastructure-as-code (AWS CDK).
Experience designing APIs with a focus on security and versioning.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a distributed team.
Availability to work 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM EEST.
