Description:

  • The senior data engineer develops, constructs, tests, and maintains architectures, such as databases and large-scale processing systems, ensuring that architecture fully supports business requirements.
  • This role involves close collaboration with the businessโ€™s Data and Analytics teams to gather technical requirements for exceptional data governance.
  • The position is part of the MusGKteers team in Data value Stream B2B Analytics, focusing on implementing a future-proof data warehouse (DWH) landscape within the One Data Ecosystem (ODE).
  • Responsibilities include analyzing complex data elements and systems, designing and building database structures, contributing to capacity planning, managing the life cycle of database tools, data munging and manipulation, solving business problems with data, developing scalable data processing platforms, and overseeing junior data engineers.

Requirements:

  • Strong expertise in cloud technologies, ideally Google Cloud Platform, including tools such as BigQuery, Dataform, BigLake, Vertex AI, Google Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer/Airflow, and Dataproc is required.
  • Solid knowledge of Python and PySpark is necessary.
  • Experience in designing and engineering DWH/BI solutions, including data modeling, is essential.
  • Understanding of data historization concepts and the ability to apply them effectively is required.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices is needed.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes using GitLab is important.
  • Ability to work with UML for system and process modeling is required.
  • Practical experience with agile delivery frameworks such as LeSS or Scrum is necessary.
  • A collaborative, agile mindset suitable for cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams is essential.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to recognize complex dependencies and communicate them clearly, are required.
  • Ability to design and implement efficient processes for integrating and consolidating heterogeneous data sources is necessary.
  • Confident communication in English at a very good level (B2) is required; German language skills are an advantage.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.
  • Experience working in intercultural or nearshore project environments is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to and within Germany is required.
