Description:

  • The Senior QA Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, executing, and automating test scenarios to ensure software quality and defect management in alignment with agile development practices.
  • This role collaborates closely with business, development, and operations teams to deliver reliable, high-quality digital solutions.
  • The Digital Hub DCI is a central development and operations organization delivering enterprise-scale digital solutions, working in cross-functional, agile setups.
  • Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and executing automated and manual test cases for hub applications.
  • The engineer will develop and maintain test automation using Java and Playwright.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and reporting defects while ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up is essential.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional agile teams is necessary to ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements.
  • The role supports software lifecycle management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contributions to improving testing processes, increasing automation coverage, and maintaining test documentation are expected.
  • The engineer will work with tools such as Jira, SQL, and XML to support defect management, reporting, and test execution.
  • Assisting in knowledge transfer and training related to testing best practices within the team is also part of the job.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have hands-on experience in test design, execution, and automation at an advanced level.
  • Experience in Java-based test automation, specifically with tools like Playwright, is required.
  • A solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) is necessary.
  • Experience working in agile frameworks, ideally SAFe® or Kanban, is preferred.
  • The ability to analyze, identify, and report defects clearly and efficiently is essential.
  • Practical experience using Jira Software, SQL, and XML is required.
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Effective communication with technical teams, business stakeholders, and operations teams is required.
  • Proficiency in German and English at a professional working level is mandatory.
  • Candidates should be able to work well in cross-functional, collaborative, and agile environments.
