Description:

SmartRecruiters is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Delivery & Developer Experience team.
The role involves contributing to an Internal Developer Platform by building internal products used by other engineers.
The engineer will cooperate closely with other Platform and Product Engineering teams on strategic initiatives.
The focus will be on boosting Engineering Productivity and Delivery Efficiency across the organization, interacting directly with engineers to discover impactful opportunities.
Responsibilities include building and documenting services, libraries, and tools using Java, Python, Node, or Go on top of Kubernetes and AWS infrastructure.
The engineer will own and evolve the CI/CD platform and support runtimes like JVM and Node.js, as well as frameworks such as Spring Boot.
Establishing technical direction for the team and the organization is also a key responsibility.
The engineer will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in components owned by the team.

Requirements:

Candidates must have experience with distributed systems design, including design for failure, eventual consistency, asynchronous communication, circuit breaking, and timeouts.
Experience in supporting the end-to-end product lifecycle is required.
Strong experience in using CI/CD systems is essential, ideally with experience in creating them.
A deep command of the Java programming language is necessary.
Hands-on experience with clean code principles and effective code reviews is required.
A good understanding of persistence layer design and RESTful API design is needed.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills are essential.
Candidates must have a strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
Familiarity with AWS and Kubernetes/Docker is a must.
The ability to coach and mentor other engineers is required.
Adequate seniority is expected, ideally demonstrated by professional experience of typically 5+ years for Senior Engineers.
