Remote Senior Software Engineer, Protocol (Rust)

Description:

• OP Labs builds Optimism, an open-source blockchain network powering financial infrastructure.
• The Protocol Team designs and operates core specifications and clients for the OP Stack, which supports over 50% of Ethereum's L2 activity.
• Responsibilities include owning features from architecture to deployment, building tests for compatibility, executing protocol upgrades, and using AI-assisted engineering tools.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in shipping production software and maintainable Rust systems.
• Deep knowledge of Ethereum (EVM, JSON-RPC, clients) and distributed systems.
• Ability to communicate complex design decisions and navigate ambiguity.
• Preferred: Familiarity with op-node, kona, or Reth implementations.
• Preferred: Ability to read production Go code and migrate behavior to Rust.
• Bonus: Proficiency in Solidity for system-level smart contracts.
