Remote Software Engineer

Description:

• Astor & Sanders Corporation (Astor), an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA, is seeking a Software Engineer.
• This is a full-time position, and is 100% remote.
• The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems, architecting scalable solutions on AWS, and ensuring secure, high-performing applications.
• The role includes developing and maintaining APIs using Django Rest Framework (DRF) and Python.
• The engineer will work with MySQL databases for data modeling and optimization.
• Java and .NET core programming are also part of the responsibilities.
• The position requires designing and implementing scalable architectures leveraging AWS services.
• The engineer will utilize Splunk, SolarWinds, and Google Analytics for system monitoring and performance analysis.
• Conducting vulnerability scanning using tools such as Trivy, AWS ECR image scanning, and SonarQube is expected.
• The role involves implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Jenkins, and GitLab CI/CD.
• The engineer will oversee application release cycles from requirements gathering to production deployment.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or a related field is required.
• Candidates must have 5+ years of experience as a full stack software engineer.
• Experience developing in Django-Rest-Framework (DRF) and Python is necessary.
• Knowledge of MySQL is required.
• Java programming experience is essential, and .NET Core experience is preferred.
• Experience working with front-end frameworks, particularly React, is highly preferred.
• Candidates must have cloud experience, specifically supporting AWS components.
• System monitoring experience is required.
• Experience using vulnerability scanning tools such as Trivy, AWS ECR, or SonarQube is necessary.
• Knowledge of Docker, Jenkins, and GitLab CI/CD is required.
• Existing Public Trust, or previously DOL experience is preferred.
