Description:

  • Lead the scientific foundation of the Fuel Detection Model to assess vegetation structure, fuel loads, and wildfire risk using satellite and environmental data.
  • Collaborate with ML engineers and product teams to define model accuracy, research methodologies, and ensure alignment with fire science principles.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in wildfire science, fire ecology, forestry, remote sensing, or related fields.
  • Expertise in remote sensing, geospatial analysis, and statistical modeling using Python (GeoPandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, XGBoost).
  • Proven ability to design validation studies for environmental models and communicate complex findings effectively.
