The Backend Engineer will join the Sponsorship Squad within the Product and Engineering area.
Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining the backend for Android, iOS, and Web applications.
The role is middle to senior-level, requiring a strong technical background and maturity.
Candidates with 3-7 years of experience are preferred, but those with less experience who demonstrate maturity are also encouraged to apply.
The position involves building and improving services for football fans, writing maintainable code, leading system design discussions, and ensuring service reliability and performance.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams and contributing to organization-wide backend engineering problems is expected.
The role promotes a culture of agile problem-solving and modern development practices, including Continuous Delivery and Test Driven Development.
On-call support is required on a rotational basis.
Requirements:
Strong proficiency in writing code in Go or a similar language (C, C++, Java) with a willingness to learn Go.
Experience in building high-performing services and APIs.
Familiarity with database schema design, preferably with SQL databases like PostgreSQL.
Experience in system design (High Level Design) and code structure design (Low Level Design).
A collaborative mindset, curiosity, and strong problem-solving skills are essential.
Ability to understand user problems and propose solutions considering trade-offs.
Knowledge of best practices in coding, system design, and software delivery.
Experience with containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools like Terraform.
Familiarity with NodeJs, Python, and Machine Learning/NLP/AI is a plus.
