Description:

  • The company is headquartered in NYC and has a global team across 11 countries.
  • The position is for a Backend Software Engineer on the Access team, which ensures access for clients' employees and their families.
  • The Access team focuses on creating an intuitive experience for verifying eligibility and signing up members, primarily in a web environment.
  • Responsibilities include defining system architecture, ensuring successful deliveries, maintaining code quality standards, promoting development best practices, building reusable code, participating in incident resolution, and fostering a supportive work environment.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • Candidates must have experience designing and developing complex modern web applications.
  • Proficiency in at least two programming languages such as Kotlin, Java, Golang, or Scala is mandatory.
  • Experience with microservices and high-volume distributed systems is essential.
  • Candidates should have experience developing RESTful web services and collaborating with front-end teams.
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or DynamoDB is required.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers such as RabbitMQ or KAFKA is necessary.
  • Candidates should have experience implementing prototypes and concepts like MVP, A/B testing, and feature toggles.
  • A solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithm design, is required.
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, and KPIs tracking is necessary.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based architectures, particularly AWS, is required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate ideas clearly are essential.
  • Proficiency in English is required, and prior experience in backend development with Java or Kotlin is mandatory.
