Description:
The position is for a Contract Software Engineer specializing in Javascript and SQL, with a remote work setup available for candidates in the EU.
The role is part of the Engineering department at YLD, a software engineering and design consultancy focused on empowering clients to develop capabilities that outperform competitors.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be involved in building innovative products and expected to demonstrate curiosity, passion, and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities include crafting excellent products, continuously delivering changes to products, collaborating with the team on engineering initiatives, and participating in internal events.
The work environment is Agile (Scrum) with a test-first mindset, emphasizing pair programming and code reviews.
Requirements:
Proven commercial experience with React and Node is required.
Strong experience in JavaScript, including asynchronous programming, closures, and ES6.
Experience working with SQL databases, with knowledge of Redshift and Snowflake considered a plus.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
Experience with GraphQL and distributed version control systems like Git is necessary.
A strong focus on continuous integration and delivery, as well as test-driven development (TDD).
Ability to build high-performance and scalable applications and a good understanding of RESTful web services.
Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and the ability to debug production issues effectively.
Candidates should be self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and possess strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with a collaborative mindset and a belief in diversity and fairness.
