Description:

Aequilibrium is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Java) with expertise in integrating and extending the Backbase digital banking platform.
This position is remote and open only to candidates in Canada or LATAM.
The role involves contributing to a fun and agile tech professional services company focused on innovative change in financial services, VR, and AI.
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with an award-winning team and make a meaningful impact on client deliverables.
Responsibilities include transforming business requirements into technical architecture, collaborating with Designers, Product Managers, and the development team, and writing clean, maintainable, testable code.

Requirements:

A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 7+ years of production-level experience in Java.
Proficiency in SOAP and RESTful Web Services, as well as tools like XML, JSON, and RAML, is necessary.
Knowledge of microservices architecture and experience performing Unit Testing using JUnit is required.
Familiarity with application servers such as Tomcat, WebSphere, Weblogic, or JBoss is essential.
A strong grasp of Git, Subversion, and other source control technologies is needed.
Candidates should have experience developing large-scale distributed systems and working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures.
Experience with cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes, is required.
Knowledge of SQL and experience with security systems that handle sensitive data is necessary.
Experience in the financial services industry or professional services is a plus.
