Description:

Risk Labs is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Across protocol team, focusing on making blockchains more usable, accessible, and efficient.
The role involves building highly available backend systems, both serverless and persistent, ensuring correctness, efficiency, and anti-fragility.
Responsibilities include designing systems to index complex onchain data for user-friendly access, developing large-scale data pipelines, and building bots and smart contracts to monitor and manage transactions.
The position requires collaboration in a highly open-source environment, with a strong emphasis on code review and mentorship, ensuring clean and secure code practices.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 4+ years of full-time experience in Software Engineering within a software, financial services, or related technology organization.
A minimum of 2 years of experience with blockchain-based projects, including hackathons or personal projects, is required.
Experience with databases, networking, and data pipelines is strongly preferred.
Applicants should possess outstanding critical thinking skills, a low ego, high curiosity, and comfort in being wrong.
A deep interest in software and a desire to understand the underlying principles of their work is essential.
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and write secure, clean code is necessary.
A passion for blockchain technology, cryptonomic protocol design, game theory, and decentralized finance is expected.
Candidates should have a growth mindset, a desire to learn from and mentor others, and strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly in writing.
While language experience is not the primary focus, familiarity with Typescript, Solidity, and GCP is beneficial.
