Description:

Across is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Across protocol team, working remotely.
The role involves building highly available backend systems that are both serverless and persistent, ensuring high correctness, efficiency, and anti-fragility.
Responsibilities include designing systems to index complex onchain data for ease of use and speedy access, as well as developing large-scale data pipelines to enhance understanding of users and protocol performance.
The engineer will also build bots and smart contracts to monitor smart contracts and manage transactions, ensuring the security of company and user funds.
Code review and mentorship are key aspects of the role, with a focus on writing clean code in a collaborative open-source environment.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 4+ years of full-time experience in Software Engineering at a software, financial services, or related technology organization.
A minimum of 2 years of experience with blockchain-based projects, including hackathons or personal projects, is required.
Experience with databases, networking, and data pipelines is strongly preferred.
Outstanding critical thinking skills, a low ego, high curiosity, and comfort in being wrong are essential.
A deep interest in software and a desire to understand the why and how of all work is necessary.
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and write secure, clean code is required.
A passion for blockchain technology, cryptonomic protocol design, game theory, and decentralized finance is important.
Candidates should possess a growth mindset and a desire to learn from and mentor others.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in writing, are essential.
While language experience is not as important, familiarity with Typescript, Solidity, and GCP is beneficial.
