Remote Cloud/AI Platform Engineer (m/w/d) // Remote möglich

Description:

• As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will contribute to the development and operation of our AI-driven cloud infrastructure.
• You will support more than 40 teams in effectively utilizing modern cloud and AI technologies.
• You will work closely with senior engineers and platform stakeholders to operate and continuously develop our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.
• Experience with other major cloud providers, particularly AWS, is welcome; we will support you in onboarding to GCP.
• You will operate and further develop our cloud platform primarily on GCP and assist teams with cloud-specific requirements.
• You will implement and maintain security and IAM configurations based on least-privilege principles and established governance guidelines.
• You will develop self-service solutions and Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform to enable teams to independently provision and manage cloud resources.
• You will automate recurring operational tasks and participate in DevOps workflows to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• With your solid programming skills, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our Python codebase.
• You will engage in automation and internal tool development, utilizing AI-driven development approaches and modern workflow automation to reduce manual effort and repetitive tasks.
• You will support the development and operation of GenAI agents and AI platforms using tools like n8n, Vertex AI, and modern GenAI frameworks (or comparable services in other cloud ecosystems).
• You will collaborate with teams on the technical implementation of AI use cases and assist in designing scalable architectures for machine-learning workloads.
• You will participate in the implementation of monitoring, alerting, and security automation to improve observability and proactive incident prevention.
• You will document systems and processes, actively participate in knowledge sharing, and contribute ideas for the further development of the cloud platform and its self-service capabilities.

Requirements:

• You must have several years of practical experience with cloud infrastructures on GCP and/or AWS.
• You should possess practical knowledge of fundamental IAM and cloud security concepts (e.g., RBAC, least privilege, workload identity concepts).
• Experience with cloud project or account structures, organizational policies, and basic governance concepts is required.
• You should have practical experience with containerization and orchestration (Cloud Build, Cloud Run, Kubernetes, GitLab CI).
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) is necessary.
• A platform engineering mindset with an interest in self-service, automation, and reliability is essential.
• You must have programming and automation skills, particularly in Python.
• A basic understanding of AI governance, cost management, and security aspects is required.
• You should be able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are necessary.
• You must have secure communication skills in both German and English.
