Description:

Seeking a skilled Cyber Security Engineer to support modernization initiatives within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) health portfolio.
Role involves cybersecurity engineering, risk management, and security modernization for enterprise healthcare systems supporting Veteran healthcare operations.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience in federal, cloud, healthcare, or regulated environments.
Experience securing AWS environments, including IAM, encryption, logging, and vulnerability management.
Hands-on experience with AWS security services (e.g., Security Hub, GuardDuty).
Familiarity with RMF, ATO, continuous monitoring, and federal compliance activities.
Knowledge of NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53 controls, FISMA, and Zero Trust.
Strong communication, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
