Remote Lead Performance Web Engineer

Description:

• Lead the web performance engineering efforts at Polymarket, focusing on speed, efficiency, and scalability of the web platform.
• Establish standards and systems to maintain high performance across a high-traffic web product.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in web performance engineering at scale, handling billions of page loads.
• Strong expertise in rendering, caching, CDN configuration, and Core Web Vitals.
• Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript, with knowledge of browser engines and network interactions.
• Experience with real user monitoring and performance testing.
• Measurement-driven approach to identifying performance issues.
• Technical leadership experience in influencing engineering practices.
• (Plus) Experience with Next.js, React, and modern SSR/SSG strategies.
• (Plus) Familiarity with edge computing and CDN programmability.
