JoVE is a leading video platform for scientific research and education, serving over 1,000 institutions globally.
Seeking an experienced Software Engineer 3 to lead development of web applications and modernize the application stack.

Requirements:

7+ years of experience in building scalable, data-driven backend systems and APIs.
At least 2 years in a technical leadership role, mentoring engineering teams.
Strong proficiency in Node.js and familiarity with frontend technologies (React, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS).
Understanding of system design, data architecture, and microservices.
Experience with RESTful APIs, event-driven systems, and cloud-native architecture (AWS).
Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies and CI/CD practices.
