Remote Principal Software Engineer, Docker Hardened Images

Description:

• Lead the architecture for Docker Hardened Images (DHI) platform, defining how images and Helm charts are secured and distributed.
• Drive multi-quarter technical roadmaps for container hardening, balancing security, compliance, and scalability.
• Identify patterns from various signals to inform architectural changes across the catalogue.
• Build alignment on technical strategy across teams and represent Docker in key engagements and OSS communities.
• Set conventions and standards for image definition and supply chain tooling.
• Mentor engineers and participate in on-call rotation for incident response.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience with production-grade distributed systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to set technical roadmaps and align stakeholders on strategy.
• Deep expertise in container and Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Mastery of container supply chain security concepts and experience in organizational posture decisions.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience influencing across teams.
• Experience in upstream OSS communities and clear communication skills.
