Remote Security Engineer I (Contract)

Description:

• Join Varicent as a Security Engineer I to support day-to-day security operations and foundational security engineering initiatives.
• Collaborate with various teams to enhance security posture through operational excellence and risk-based decision-making.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Technology Management, Information Security, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in Information Security, Security Engineering, or Security Operations with at least one recognized security certification (CISSP, CISA, CCSP, etc.).
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, IBM Cloud, GCP) and security technologies (SIEM, WAF, DLP, EDR).
• Strong understanding of security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements (SOC 1, SOC 2, PCI, HIPAA).
• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
