Description:

We are seeking a visionary Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in IoT ecosystems and M2M connectivity to lead the development of our next-generation smart platform from scratch.
In this role, you will architect the "nervous system" of our product, bridging the gap between physical hardware—such as telematics units and smart meters—and scalable cloud logic.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of IoT data, from direct hardware integration and M2M SIM orchestration to building complex business logic for automated monitoring systems.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing a greenfield, microservice-based backend architecture optimized for high-throughput IoT data ingestion, directly integrating diverse hardware and managing the M2M SIM lifecycle via telco APIs, developing handlers for IoT protocols, implementing logic to monitor signal strength and manage APN configurations, building complex backend logic for smart solutions, managing massive streams of time-series data, and implementing industry-standard security for secure M2M communication.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field is required.
You must have 5+ years of experience in Backend Development, with at least 3 years specifically focused on IoT/M2M product ecosystems.
Mastery of Node.js and NestJS (TypeScript) is essential.
Proven experience in designing Event-Driven Architectures and Microservices is necessary.
Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema design and performance tuning, is required.
Experience integrating with Connectivity Management Platforms (CMPs) via REST APIs to manage SIM states and data consumption is needed.
Understanding of NB-IoT, LTE-M (Cat-M1), and 4G/5G constraints is important.
Hands-on experience with hardware-to-backend integration for Telematics and Smart Metering is required.
Expertise in MQTT/S, CoAP, and handling binary data payloads is necessary.
Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes is required.
Experience building automated deployment pipelines for scalable cloud environments is necessary.
You should possess strong analytical skills to troubleshoot network-layer issues specific to cellular M2M environments.
Demonstrated ability to take a product from a conceptual "scratch" phase to a production-ready, global scale is essential.
