The role is for a Senior Cloud Database Administrator focused on NoSQL and AWS to enhance the team’s capabilities beyond MySQL/Aurora.
Responsibilities include owning, operating, and optimizing DynamoDB workloads, designing and maintaining DocumentDB and MongoDB clusters, leveraging AWS services, implementing automation-as-code, improving database observability, collaborating with engineers, contributing to reliability engineering practices, and participating in an on-call rotation.
Requirements:
Candidates must have hands-on, senior-level expertise operating DynamoDB in production, including table design and performance optimization.
Experience with AWS MSK or Kafka for event-driven use cases is highly valued.
Knowledge of DocumentDB and/or MongoDB administration is required.
A solid understanding of AWS cloud fundamentals for data platforms is necessary.
Proficiency in automation using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or GO with AWS CLI and SDKs is essential.
Working knowledge of relational databases like MySQL/Aurora or PostgreSQL is a plus.
Clear communication in English and a collaborative mindset are required.
Certifications in AWS or equivalent expertise are nice to have, along with experience in infrastructure as code and Git-based workflows.
