Join Marqeta’s Cloud Database Engineering team as a Senior Cloud Database Engineer responsible for all databases powering the card issuing platform.
Automate AWS Aurora instance lifecycles, analyze database performance, and innovate resilient database solutions.

Requirements:

5+ years of backend engineering experience; Bachelor's degree or 7+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Proficient with cloud-native databases (AWS preferred), including RDBMS (Aurora, MySQL, Postgres) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB).
Experience in high availability, disaster recovery, distributed systems, IaC, automation tools (Terraform), and CI/CD.
Solid understanding of database administration, query tuning, and performance metrics; proficient in Python and Linux commands.
Strong ownership, curiosity for continuous learning, and team-oriented approach.

Competitive base salary range: 144,100 - 180,100 USD, with annual bonuses for performance.
