Remote Senior Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE)

Description:

• Senior Database Reliability Engineer responsible for supporting production database systems, primarily MySQL 8.4 on Google Cloud Platform’s CloudSQL and Google Cloud Spanner.
• Ensure high performance, availability, and security of core database systems, and communicate critical data changes to the data warehousing team.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience managing MySQL/CloudSQL at scale.
• Expert in SQL, MySQL specifics, schema design, and deep knowledge of MySQL internals.
• Solid understanding of MySQL replication, SQL tuning, and database optimization.
• Experience operating Google Cloud Spanner at scale, including schema design and query optimization.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Bonus: Payments experience, GCP toolset, infrastructure as code, Redis, and global multi-region deployments.
