Remote Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack)

Description:

• As a Senior Software Engineer at Lithos, you will work directly with the Head of Engineering to build the operating system for one of the largest carbon dioxide removal efforts in history.
• The role involves creating an entirely new industry capable of removing tens of billions of tons of CO2, comparable to global production levels of food and concrete, within the next decade.
• Lithos aims to leverage agriculture, mining, and transportation industries to achieve this goal.
• You will build the operating system to plan, orchestrate, track, and optimize enhanced rock weathering.
• The position requires combining deep full-stack technical skills with empathy and design thinking to build and scale an interconnected platform.
• Examples of challenges include developing interactive geospatial tools, creating automated workflows for digitizing maps, building data pipelines for agricultural machinery logs, and managing laboratory information systems for field samples.

Requirements:

• Candidates should have experience building applications for non-technical power users in a fast-paced, early-stage environment; mid-senior engineering experience is preferred.
• Fluency in modern web development across the full stack is required, with experience in technologies similar to React, Typescript, Phoenix and LiveView, and Postgres/PostGIS/SQL.
• Excellent communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to operate independently in a highly ambiguous environment and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve business goals.
• Candidates should be comfortable balancing scrappy solutions with longer-term investments and have a clear opinion on managing technical debt.
