Remote Senior Software Engineer, Revenue Enablement - (Java) - Growth (open to remote across ANZ)

Description:

• The role focuses on building well-documented APIs, platforms, and self-serve tooling to empower other teams within Canva.
• It involves evolving systems with urgency and focus to meet rapidly growing customer needs and business ambitions.
• The position requires operating, monitoring, and diagnosing issues with mission-critical systems in production, using incidents as opportunities to enhance observability, resilience, and security.
• The candidate will proactively identify technical debt, communicate its impact to stakeholders, and propose actions to reduce complexity and increase agility.
• The role includes mentoring colleagues and contributing to a collaborative culture that encourages continuous learning and growth.
• The position primarily involves backend work but also requires interaction with frontend code components and a willingness to contribute across the stack.

Requirements:

• Candidates must be highly competent in backend Java development.
• Strong knowledge of building APIs and leveraging databases is essential.
• The ability to work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements, iterate ideas, and build custom solutions is required.
• Candidates should be capable of identifying solution options, weighing tradeoffs, and proposing scalable software architecture to solve business problems.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts and implications to various audiences, including non-technical stakeholders, are necessary.
• Comfort in working as part of a cohesive and collaborative team with frequent interactions, regular pair programming, and code reviews is expected.
• Demonstrated ability to rally and energize others while driving team objectives forward is important.
• Hands-on experience using AI in coding/programming to drive greater impact is preferred.
