The role of Software Engineer, AI/ML GenAI involves owning the full lifecycle of AI features, from rapid prototyping to production deployment and ongoing evaluation.
Responsibilities include designing agentic systems, managing RAG end-to-end, managing embeddings at scale, fine-tuning and building evaluation, and collaborating cross-functionally.
The team is fully distributed, but candidates are expected to have significant overlap with Pacific Time Zone working hours.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years working with modern LLMs.
Proven experience in taking LLM/RAG systems from prototype to production, owning reliability and observability.
Experience in building tool/function-calling workflows and safe tool integrations.
Strong understanding of document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, and hybrid search.
Hands-on experience with embedding model selection/versioning and vector databases.
Comfort in designing evaluation suites and familiarity with evaluation frameworks.
Proficiency in Python and TypeScript/Node, with familiarity in Ruby on Rails being a plus.
Comfortable with SQL, schema design, and building data pipelines.
A collaborative approach and ability to translate research ideas into user-friendly features.
A results-driven mindset with a focus on speed, quality, and simplicity.

The target salary band for US-based candidates is $175,000 - $220,000/year plus equity.
