Remote Software Engineer, ML Infrastructure

Description:

• Serve Robotics is seeking a Software Engineer for the Machine Learning (ML) Infrastructure team to help design, build, and maintain a petabyte-scale data and ML platform.
• The role involves developing and maintaining highly scalable data processing pipelines for data curation, annotation, search, and ML feature extraction.
• Responsibilities include building data discovery features, creating and maintaining search features such as natural language querying, and developing orchestration and scheduling systems.
• The engineer will maintain and evolve data schemas, build integrations with annotation providers, and collaborate with autonomy engineers to improve documentation and run tutorials on platform features.
• The company aims to grow robotic deliveries from novelty to ubiquity, benefiting local businesses and enhancing user experience.

Requirements:

• A BS or MS in computer science with a focus on data engineering and/or machine learning is required.
• Candidates must have 3+ years of industry experience in building, running, and improving large-volume data processing, feature extraction, and data annotation workflows.
• Experience in building data mining and search capabilities is necessary.
• Proficiency in both Python and SQL is required.
• A solid understanding of data distributions and their impact on ML models is essential.
• Hands-on experience and a good understanding of LLMs, VLMs, embeddings, and vector databases are required.
• Experience with data annotation providers such as CVAT, LabelBox, and LabelStudio is necessary.
