Description:

  • Lead the scientific foundation of the Fuel Detection Model to assess vegetation structure, fuel loads, and wildfire risk using satellite and environmental data.
  • Collaborate with ML engineers and product teams to ensure modeling choices are based on fire science and remote sensing fundamentals.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of applied research or data science experience in wildfire science, fire ecology, forestry, remote sensing, or a related quantitative field.
  • Deep expertise in remote sensing and geospatial analysis, strong statistical modeling and machine learning skills in Python.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
