Remote Staff Software Engineer, Foundations Data Platform - CAN

Description:

• Lead the re-platforming of Vanta’s data layer for compliance products, transitioning from a Mongo-centric architecture to a Kafka data pipeline.
• Ensure high-throughput processing of terabyte-scale data streams and maintain system correctness during migration.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in platform migration initiatives while ensuring backward compatibility.
• Strong knowledge of streaming infrastructure (Kafka), distributed systems, and data pipeline engineering.
• Proficiency in relational and document data modeling (Postgres and MongoDB).
• Experience in defining technical roadmaps and collaborating with engineering leadership.
• Solid AWS fundamentals and proficiency in TypeScript and Node.
• Ability to communicate complex systems tradeoffs to diverse audiences.
• Openness to using AI tools to enhance work efficiency.
