The Staff Software Engineer (Golang) will be responsible for building a global commerce platform to facilitate over $1 trillion in annual transactions for SMEs.
This role involves setting the architecture, enhancing reliability, and increasing team effectiveness without direct reports.
The engineer will manage core payment models including subscriptions, payments, reconciliation, and tax, ensuring performance and correctness at scale.
The technology stack includes Go, ConnectRPC, Buf, Vue.js, MongoDB, Firestore, ClickHouse, and GCP.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in building and operating backend systems, with at least 5+ years in Go and 2-3+ years in a Staff/Principal-level IC or Tech Lead role.
Deep proficiency in protobuf and ConnectRPC/gRPC, along with API lifecycle management is required.
A strong understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, event-driven architectures, and Kubernetes/GKE operations at scale is essential.
Experience in reliability engineering, security and compliance best practices, and testing discipline is necessary.
Candidates should have a solid understanding of frontend technologies, particularly Vue.js and TanStack Query, to ensure clean API surfaces.
Exceptional technical writing and communication skills are required for documentation and stakeholder updates.
