Description:

  • Neo4j is the leader in Graph Database & Analytics, helping organizations uncover hidden patterns and relationships across billions of data connections.
  • The Technical Onboarding Engineer plays a critical role in supporting customers early in their Neo4j journey to ensure project success.
  • Responsibilities include leading new customers from signed contracts to planning all aspects of building a production-ready Neo4j environment.
  • The role involves providing guidance on cloud provisioning, security, networking, data import, and app integration.
  • The engineer will shape onboarding plans, orchestrate delivery across workstreams, and ensure predictable time-to-value.
  • For AuraDB customers, the engineer will leverage automation for provisioning, upgrades, and backups, focusing on data modeling and application success.
  • For self-managed customers, the engineer will apply infrastructure-as-code and platform engineering practices to deliver secure, resilient clusters.
  • Key responsibilities include planning and kickoff, environment provisioning, security, identity and access management, networking, data onboarding, application integration, query optimization, observability, operations, enablement, handover, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Clear communication and scoped planning skills are essential for customer-facing delivery.
  • Depth in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and familiarity with others is required.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform as the primary tool, with knowledge of Ansible or similar tools.
  • Strong command of Linux and container technologies, with Kubernetes or managed container platforms as a plus.
  • Networking knowledge including VPC/VNet, routing, security groups, peering, and DNS is necessary.
  • Experience with identity and security management, including SSO (OIDC/SAML) and RBAC design.
  • Familiarity with data movement techniques, including bulk imports and at least one ETL/CDC tool or framework.
  • Experience with Neo4j drivers/SDKs, connection tuning, and performance troubleshooting is required.
  • Knowledge of observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or CloudWatch is necessary.
  • Experience with CI/CD practices using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins is required.
  • Exposure to compliance and security standards such as SOC 2, GDPR, and HIPAA is preferred.
