Description:

  • Join GitLab as a Backend Engineer on the Chat Engine team to build the engine behind GitLab Duo Chat, a conversational AI experience.
  • Work primarily in Python to develop and maintain the Flow Registry, LangGraph flows, and the Duo Workflow Service, while integrating with the GitLab Rails monolith.

Requirements:

  • Professional experience with Python and building/testing production services.
  • Working proficiency with Ruby on Rails or willingness to learn.
  • Exposure to large language models and experience designing/building APIs.
  • Security-minded development approach and clear written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
  • Experience with LangGraph, GraphQL, RSpec, and the GitLab product is a plus.
