Remote Backend Engineer - Core Infrastructure

Description:

• Work on Spotify’s perimeter infrastructure, managing traffic between clients and backend services at scale.
• Design, build, and maintain systems for cloud networking, provisioning, and monitoring.
• Enhance traffic protection capabilities, including DDoS mitigation and scraping prevention.
• Collaborate with engineers to design reliable, scalable services and improve platform usability.
• Conduct disaster recovery exercises and troubleshoot complex system behaviors.

Requirements:

• Experience with Kubernetes and networking fundamentals across multiple layers.
• Proficient in operating and debugging distributed systems in production.
• Strong coding skills in at least one programming language (Java or C++ preferred).
• Familiarity with load balancing, monitoring, and configuration management.
• Knowledge of software engineering practices like testing and continuous integration.
• Ability to work in a distributed team and solve complex infrastructure challenges.
